Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been won on hard courts

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev secured his initial championship for nearly 30 months with a win over Corentin Moutet in the tournament championship match.

The Russian, a ex- world number one, has endured a challenging year, managing just one match at the big events and undergoing a difficult moment at the US Open.

His unpredictability on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serve in specific - led to him dropping out of the elite rankings and finally splitting with former mentor his previous coach.

Currently collaborating with his coach and Goetzke, he has steadily progressed in the recent weeks - peaking in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.

This represents Medvedev's initial trophy after the Rome competition and first on a hard court after March of 2023.

Success also signifies the Russian has achieved twenty-one victories at twenty-one various competitions.

"For the first time I have attended a event with my children simultaneously, so to secure a trophy is particularly special," commented world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.

"This victory is in honour of my second daughter Victoria, because the maiden victory I got when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."

The athlete, the former major winner, had failed in his last six championship matches, including in that event earlier this year.

His retrieving strategy and recurring emotional displays on the tennis court had caused commentators to wonder if his ability to compete at the highest level was concluded.

Yet the athlete has altered his approach in the past month, attempting to come to the net and compete assertively, supported by an better serve.

The champion fought back from a deficit in the opening set against the tricky Moutet, taking 4 of the final five exchanges to go ahead.

The pair swapped breaks in the following set before Moutet, striving for his initial ATP Tour title, took control to push for a third set.

Moutet saved four early break points in a tight final set before the Russian secured a break to fifteen to close out the victory.

Suitably, he earned the win with a point at the net area, with the Frenchman incapable to manage a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
